Reporte Anual al Público

Weld Re-8 School District is pleased to announce the availability of our Annual Report to the Public.

Every year, school districts in Colorado report about their performance to their communities, based on requirements in the No Child Left Behind Act. In addition, state law has required that districts report district accreditation information.

Both the information required by federal law and district accreditation information is now available on the Colorado Department of Education’s Web site at http://www.schoolview.org/SchoolPerformance/index.asp

If you would like a hard copy of this information, please contact Wendy Sarazen at 303-857-3203.

Evidence of a Safe, Civil Learning Environment

The Weld Re-8 School District has a Safe Schools Plan.  District policies for conduct and discipline codes are implemented in each school.  Board policies and procedures exist for dealing with disruptive students and the district takes disciplinary action in accordance with the policy.

All Weld Re-8 schools have implemented the Positive Behavior Support system.  This program of discipline focuses on rewarding positive behaviors and making rules simple for students to understand and follow.  School policies have procedures for working with students to identify any possible threats to student, public or school safety. The district has a process for students to report anonymously on conduct that concerns them.  Bullying and violence prevention programs are in place at each school.  Any threats are evaluated seriously with a team on an as needed basis.

The Weld Re-8 School District has an emergency crisis plan, and this plan is reviewed and expanded when needed. School- and district-level administrators have been trained in the Federal Incident Command System to better plan for, assess and react to crisis situations in conjunction with local police and fire personnel.  A school resource officer has been hired to assist school personnel in the implementation of the Safe Schools Plan, and Weld Re-8 administrators work closely with local police and fire departments to ensure the safety of all school students and staff.
